Matthew Goodwin is an academic, bestseller writer and speaker known for his work on political volatility, risk, populism, Europe, elections and Brexit. Amongst other roles, he is Professor of Politics at Rutherford College at the University of Kent. He is the author of six books including the 2018 bestseller National populism: The Revolt Against Liberal Democracy and the 2015 Political Book of the Year, Revolt on the Right, which was long-listed for the Orwell Prize.
