As we return to in-person events in 2021, CII has put in place a COVID-safe policy. The policy, outlined below, has been developed to provide clarity to our clients around how we will approach various COVID-related situations, should they arise. With all in-person events for 2021 to be held in Victoria, the advice of the Victorian Government will dictate the rules that govern each of our conferences. CII will exercise our discretion, where scope exists, in good faith and for the safety of our delegates and community.
AUDIENCE SIZE RESTRICTIONS
Advice on density limits are constantly changing. cii has carefully selected venues with ample space so that the density limits enforced by the victorian government are followed.
ATTENDANCE TRACKING/QR CODES
Attendees will be required to check in to the event once each day via QR code. all delegates should aim to download the services victoria mobile app prior to arriving.
FACE MASKS & SANITISER
The advice on face masks is ever changing, depending on the current status of active cases in Victoria. At a minimum, we advise face masks to be worn when travelling on mass transportation to and from the event. This includes on aeroplanes, in high occupancy vehicles (such as the CII airport and CBD transfers, if applicable) and on public transport. Advice on whether or not masks are required whilst in the conference room will be provided closer to the event date. Regardless, CII recommends clients carry a mask at all times.
Sanitiser will be provided at all tables and external venues, where applicable.
INTERNATIONAL ATTENDEES
The expectation for our 2021 program is that there will be no international attendees present at any of our events (excluding New Zealand). International speakers will present via video conference, with the in-person delegation being made up of Australia/NZ asset owners, asset consultants and asset manager representatives.
INTERSTATE ATTENDEES
All CII events in 2021 will be held in Victoria. The Victorian Government has introduced a ‘Traffic Light System’ which dictates which Local Government Areas are permitted into Victoria, and under which conditions. If you are travelling to Victoria from interstate, you will need to assess which coloured zones you have visited in the last 14 days, and apply for a travel permit (both can be done here). You may face a fine of up to $4,957 if you attempt to enter Victoria without an approved travel permit.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
Social distancing has been encouraged from the outset of the pandemic, and our events are no exception. For mass transport such as bus transfers, extra transport will be booked to make sure that there is ample space between delegates when moving to and from the conference venue. Seating at events will be adjusted slightly from our typical format, to ensure delegates are comfortably spaced out, without impacting on the ability of delegates to communicate.
EVENT CANCELLATIONS/POSTPONEMENT
The health and safety of our delegates dictates how our events proceed. Should the COVID situation in the weeks before the event prevent us from convening, the event will be delayed to a later point in the year. Similarly, if border closures lead to a significant number of delegates being unable to attend, the event will be delayed to a later point in the year.
During the event, CII will be constantly monitoring the status of all interstate borders. In the unlikely event of an imminent border closure during the event, CII will alert all attendees and transportation to the airport will immediately be arranged for all those impacted. Depending on the impact to the size of the delegation, and any other relevant factors, the decision will then be made as to whether or not the event continues.
